Original & Custom Made Wrought Iron Candelabra

Intercanada Ceramics was founded by my wife Elsa Hernandez in 1990. She started one of her favorite hobbies, creating silk flower arrangements and selling them in home shows with friends and family. At the end of 1991, she gave it up because she had a full time job, and expecting our first daughter Stephanie. Elsa did not have too much time to create the arrangements. In 1992, I decided to invest the money we had received from selling our Restaurant.

At first, We started as wholesalers, but since Elsa already had a full time job, we decided I was the one in charge of it. Our specialty was all type of ceramic imported from Canada, such as vases, cherubs, stands, sconces, planters, centerpieces. Mexican clay was also included, such as Chimneys, pots, planters, garden figurines, etc. Even though clients did not trust me because Interncanada Ceramics was never heard of, I never gave up. Visiting Florists, Gift Shoppe, etc. on a daily basis and sometimes feeling unwelcome to many of those stores. I realized people were interested in a different product other than ceramic or clay. I knew I was missing a product to believe in.

The few clients I had would have more preference for wrought iron candelabras, stand, wedding arches, etc. than what I had to offered. For days, I analyzed the situation and that gave me the idea to create the product they were asking for. They would tell me the design, measurements, and drawing of the piece they were interested in purchasing, I would get in touch with the person in charge of making the piece in Canada and travel once a month to bring the model piece for the client to ensure the quality of the masterwork.

Intercanada was offering more than ceramic and clay. People started to acknowledge the quality and trust of the company, therefore I decided to rename it, Intercanada Ceramics and Ironware.

I believe in my manufactured goods due to the expanding wrought iron line I was creating. I knew my ideas, styles and category were exclusive on Long Island and New York tri-state area. Currently we supply the most well known florists, flower designers, caterers, and churches, with more than 100 man-made products.
